If You’re Not Posting Videos, You Are Missing Out!

Hey! Honest Housewife here!

A trend that I have noticed is video marketing.  More and more companies are producing, sharing and uploading videos to engage potential customers. Over the last few years YouTube has grown to over 1 billion unique visitors per month!  That is a HUGE amount of traffic and potential customers watching videos! In the internet marketing world videos have become the number one way to get messages across to people who are interested in online opportunities.

It is also known that to rank videos online, you have to really know what you are doing. Anyone can just upload a video to YouTube but it takes a specialist to know what to say, how it should look, how long it should be, etc. This is why there are companies that will take care of this for you. You don’t want to leave these things to chance or your videos will never make it on the search engines.

When you are looking for a company to do this for you, make sure to do your homework.  Look for samples, see how many videos they already have up, look at comments, reviews, etc. There are, of course, tons of companies that claim they can rank videos online but remember that you get what you pay for.

Always check out a companies credentials and again, search for other videos they have produced, uploaded and ranked for other people and companies.  Also know that YouTube isn’t the only source out there.  Search Google for other places where your videos can be uploaded. The more exposure you get, the more traffic you will receive.

Video is growing exponentially and if you are not taking part, you need to start now.  95% of traffic right now is video traffic. Get your piece of it today!

Thanks!

How To Use SEO To Get Traffic To Your Blog

Understanding correct SEO is crucial for increasing your traffic and brand awareness. Right at this very moment, someone is searching for a piece of content that is similar to yours. Without SEO, the contents of your website, no matter how well written they are, will go unnoticed.

Staying updated about the top SEO tactics takes research and experimentation. Because Google’s algorithms get constantly improved, it is also important to stay tuned to the latest trends and updates from them.

With these in mind, you can become your own SEO expert and drive traffic to your website. Here are some SEO techniques that you can implement right away to increase your traffic.

Keywords Research

Whenever you write a new blog post, you must check the most popular keywords used by the searchers for you to know what you can use in your blog posts. Keyword research is a very important process in SEO as it tells you the exact words and phrases potential clients, customers or subscribers are using to search on Google. You can research keywords with ease by using a keyword tool by Google.

Create Quality Content Consistently

A true, relevant and quality content will naturally attract backlinks, social media shares, real readers and loyal subscribers. This is good for both SEO and user experience.

Good content may attract readers but excellent articles will make you stand out from your competitors. Do not write a blog posts just for the sake of publishing something. Write quality and useful resources that would stand out from the crowd.

Don’t forget to add pictures, infographics or videos to make it look attractive and informative. The competition is getting tough, so producing top notch articles is one of the best ways to succeed.

Create Powerful Internal Links

One of the easiest ways to create powerful backlinks is by linking new articles to your already existing posts. By linking to relevants posts that you have written and published before, you can build quality links and use the anchor texts that you prefer. These links are valuable and it will keep your readers more engaged in your website.

Clean Your Old Posts

For many years, backlinking has been an essential element of search engine optimization. Although you could still get traffic even without links, you will never be able to compete with authority sites in your industry if you do not build quality backlinks.

To gain more organic traffic, you need to be serious about your backlinks – including those that already exist in your older blog posts. Since you are now more knowledgeable on how to market your website, you can start cleaning up the mess you have made before you knew how to use SEO.

SEO is not about the number of links you have, but rather the quality of links you present in your post. To get good results and increase organic traffic, go back to your old posts and identify the best links you can keep and the bad ones you need to remove. Here are the important characteristics of a good backlink

  • Contextual links are great for driving traffic
  • Link from a long and comprehensive article carry a lot of SEO value
  • Link is from a website with a good domain authority
  • Dofollow links are important for organic traffic growth (especially dofollow links to author websites)
  • The backlink was added by the editor and was not automatically built
  • The link is from a relevant website in your industry

If the backlinks are spammy, unnatural and irrelevant, remove these to help boost your traffic.

Become A Guest Blogger On Reputable Sites

One of the best ways to promote your website is to become a guest blogger on a popular website with a similar niche. This is a tactic where you can get your website in front of an established community that can potentially become your customers or readers as well.

Another benefit in guest blogging is that you get a backlink from their website and this positively impacts on your SEO. You just need to make sure that you refrain guest blogging from low-quality websites as this might have a negative impact instead. Therefore, you need to be selective when choosing a website where you can submit your article to.

Unless you have allotted a budget for an advertising campaign to promote your blog, it will take months before your website or blog establishes its own readership. For some, it may even take years. So don’t be alarmed if it is taking too long. Stay patient and focus your energy in delivering quality content that your readers will love.

Drop Shipping, or How to Start a Business Without all the Bells and Whistles

In case you didn’t know, affiliate marketing has a distant relative that does not appear often in the Internet marketing industry talks. Its name is drop shipping, and today I am letting our guest author, Jorge E. Aguayo, tell you more about the topic.

Being a drop shipper is almost like being a re-seller. The difference with drop shipping is on the way you handle stock.

In a normal re-seller business, you buy wholesale and sell retail. You need some storage space for the products you bought while you sell them. You do make profit, but you also have some costs. Costs may include customs taxes, storage space, packaging and shipping, just to name a few.

In a drop shipping business you do not have any stock. You sell the product online, and then you ask the manufacturer to ship the purchased product to your client for you. Needless to say, you pay them their share and keep the rest as your profit.

It sounds good, doesn’t it? Yes, it is that simple, making it perfect for any stay-at-home mum who knows how to sell a product. It is a great way to start a business without all the bells and whistles.

If you add to that the fact it is not as popular as other online marketing options out there, it may be the side income you have been looking for.

Yet we are on Honest Housewife here, so let’s take a deeper look at all the pros and cons of drop shipping.

Pros

  • Drop shipping is easy to implement. You may start with just an online store and a few products.
  • You do not need to invest in renting a shop, getting business licences, buying furniture to begin. You just need a domain name, an e-commerce software.
  • You do not need to drop ship for just one store. You may make profit from many sets of products in the same online shop!
  • As mentioned above, you do not need to keep any stock of products in your house (or office).
  • Tax-related issues are easier, as you do not need to count your stock as assets in your tax returns.
  • Your clients may never learn who the real manufacturer is, so they may keep coming back to your store to buy again!
  • You receive your commission in advance. You do not need to wait until the next payment cycle.

Cons

  • You may need to sign agreements or contracts with the suppliers.
  • As you do not control the stock, eventually you run the risk of selling an item that the supplier does not have anymore. Let me repeat that: eventually. Don’t let this discourage you.
  • It is a little bit harder to provide warranty, or to return or change defective items, as you need to arrange that with your suppliers.
  • Unless you buy one product for yourself or read the manuals thoroughly, you may not be as able to provide customer service as the real manufacturer.
  • You need to learn about online marketing and online advertising. You may open your store fast, but it doesn’t mean the world will freeze to go and buy from you.

Now, don’t let the cons discourage you. With some work, drop shipping can make really good money for you. Many drop shippers start with an eBay account drop shipping items that are on sale at Walmart or Alibaba. Of course, you want something more elaborated, something that may become a business in the long run and that can stand the test of time.

So here is what I suggest you doing if you want to start in the drop shipping business:

The most important task is to select good sources. The better the suppliers the better the business. I can’t stress this enough!

Try to find uncommon goods. Everybody sells USB pen drives. Come on, be creative!

Try to find items that can be sold all year round, or sets of items from a few stores that will supplement each other so you can sell all year round. It doesn’t matter if they need to come from more than one supplier. You need a steady income to keep a business moving all year round.

For example, you may start drop shipping the exclusive baby alpaca sweaters and cardigans for men and women we sell on our site; but if you don’t find a delightful set of bikinis for the summer, you run the risk of only being able to do business in autumn. That makes not sense, does it?

Double-check the supplier. Search online, surf drop shipping groups and try to find reviews about the supplier’s reputation before joining their drop shipping program. You do not want to feed a scammer. Drop shipper communities are a good place to look for sources too.

Where Do You Get Content For Your Blog?

I did a recent search on Google for blog content.  Unfortunately I don’t always have time to blog like I would want to. Sometimes I need a little help coming up with good ideas and content so I went searching to see what I could find.

There are several sites for articles like ArticleBase.com, ArticleFactory.com, ArticleCity.com, but the problem with that is you are putting content on your site that is not unique. All of these sites let anyone post them as long as they are linked back. Google is not a fan of duplicate content so that’s not a good idea.

There are also sites where you can purchase PLR articles. This is a little better as they are not sold to a huge number of people, but they are still not unique to you. They may only be sold to 150 people, but still that’s 150 blogs that have that content on them.

I also looked into someone writing the blog posts for me. This is a good idea for unique content, but you need to have money to do that. It can get quite expensive if you want posts coming to you on the regular. I’m not saying this a good idea but unless you have a good amount to invest, then this isn’t for you.

The best way to get good quality, unique content for your site is guest bloggers. Ah ha! 🙂 Sure there are some that take cash but not as much as a regular blogger. There are also WP Plugins that help the process. A couple of free places I found are:

www.myblogguest.com

www.freeguestpost.com

www.postrunner.com

You sign up for a free account, enter your blog and then wait for people to contact you or you can put in a post asking for guest posts.

One of the services that have paid blog posts is:

www.postjoint.com

All of these have unique and well written content for your blog if needed.  I have had a couple of guest blog posts that have been extremely well written, a good length and have benefited my blog.

I would definitely be interested in any places you know of where there is great contact for a blog, or if you would like to write a guest post for this blog, please let me know!

Have a good one!

3 Things You Can Do Online To Make Money

There is a plethora of income generating opportunities online. Whatever your skills or interests are, there is definitely something that you can do using your computer to earn income. Whether you are an employed professional, a college student, a stay-at-home mom, or a retired senior, you can work online and earn extra money. Here are three ways for you to gain income from online work:

Offer Your Services Online

A lot of freelance work are available online in websites like Upwork. There is a wide range of job categories that you can choose from based on your skills and experience, including photography, accounting, marketing, sales, and customer service. If you barely have enough experience in your field, there is no need to worry. Projects posted in this site varies, from beginner’s level to intermediate and expert. For newbies who want to land their first project, one way to win your client’s trust is to provide them with samples of your work or work for a small project for a minimal fee so they can test your skills and work practice.

Sell Products Online

You can either start creating stuff and sell them online or become a reseller on websites like Etsy, Shopify, Amazon, or eBay. You can also create a Facebook page or Instagram account and post photos of your products on these popular social media channels, along with descriptions and prices of these items. Make sure to include the payment methods allowed and how long the customers can expect their orders to be delivered to them. Another important thing is to ensure that you deliver exactly what they ordered, so that you become known as a reliable and trusted seller.

Teach or Train Online

This is an ideal online job for almost anyone. Even a young university student can teach and make a living online. One thing you can do is teach is the English language to foreign students. There are several websites that provide work as home-based English teacher, such as Cambly, Duolingo, and Englishhunt. Retired individuals and mothers who left their jobs to personally take care of their family can also create an online course and share their skills and knowledge through this. You don’t even have to hire a web developer to build your online training class for you. Search online for a learning management system that suits your budget and your requirements, and you can easily build an online course yourself.

Whether you’re looking for a way to earn additional income or to completely rely on your online endeavours to make a living, you will find that there are a lot of great opportunities for you online. All you need to do is perform an online search and decide which of the many projects available for you will complement your lifestyle and match your skills and interests. From there, all you need to do is be committed to your online job and give your best each time so that you get to build good relationships with your clients.

I Can’t Believe It!

Honest Housewife here!

I belong to quite a few Facebook groups about online marketing, internet marketing, etc. I was just on my news feed this morning and great day! There are STILL so many people advertising clearly scam programs. I saw a few about “Send a Text and make $200 today!” and “If you can mail out 100 postcards, you can rich too!” COME ON PEOPLE!

It is really irritating that there are so many people out there trying to take advantage of “newbies” that are just trying to make it online. Sure, there are folks that want to make the quick buck without doing any work, and in my opinion if you’re going to be that lazy then by all means, throw your money away on one of these scams. But if you really want to try and succeed in something you are passionate about, whether it be Facebook, Twitter, blogging, writing, etc. then there is work involved. There is no easy way.

Of the programs that I have been a part of or purchased, nothing has made me rich overnight. What usually happens is there are a few golden nuggets of information in them and I just use those to continue to do what I already do. There is nothing wrong with that. It’s all about learning your niche, ways to drive traffic, and then providing people with information and help that they can really use.

People will listen to you if you know what you’re talking about and can provide them information that will help them succeed. It just gets frustrating when my feed is full of crap that it makes me think the real opportunities are getting lost, and that’s a bad thing.

This is just be complaining. 🙂 I want to make sure that if you are new to the business to please, please, please watch out for things that sound too good to be true, because they definitely are!

Put your nose to the grindstone, find something you are passionate about and like to talk about and talk about it to people who have the same interest. Please don’t take the easy way out. If it was easy, everybody would be doing it. 🙂

Have a great day!

Targeted Traffic Is Good Traffic And Profitable Traffic

Honest Housewife here!

If you want good traffic to your website then you really need to target your audience. There is no point having hundreds of visitors to your website every day if they are visitors that have no interest in your site or product at all. Having 10 targeted visitors it better than 100 non-targeted visitors. Non-targeted visitors are not going to buy the products you are promoting. There is a big difference between getting traffic to your site and getting buying traffic to your site.

To get targeted traffic to your website you need an understanding of the demographics and the market that you want to reach. This will take some time and research but it is worth it. You are in the business to make money and taking the time to do your research now will actually save you time in the long term.

When you advertise, always place your advertising on other websites that are specific to the audience you are targeting. Be really selective with the placements of your ads so that you are paying for advertising that is only being shown to people that are interested in your niche. Although being selective with your ad placement will most likely reduce the traffic coming to your site, you will find that your sales will increase.

Be very careful with how you word your advertising. Simple changes to the words or phrases in your ad can make a big difference to the type of traffic you get. Use content that will target those who are interested in your product but will be of no interest to those people who are ‘non-buyers’. Give details of the product so that you are telling your customers exactly what you are offering.

You want to place your advertisements on sites that are content based and have content that is relevant to your niche. People viewing the site are people that will be interested in your product so will click on your ad when they see it. Remember to be specific with the ad content details.

When you are advertising try using different forms of the keywords and phrases and different people will search for the same information by using different words. By targeting an expanded range of keywords and phrases you are gaining rankings for multiple terms which will increase your traffic.

When created your ad try to think like your customer. Ask yourself what would make you click on that ad and then buy your product. When you start thinking like a customer’s you really increase your targeted audience and your sales. If it means that you need to change your advertising approach completely then do it, you need to do whatever it takes to increase your sales.

Don’t use the same old advertising techniques that people have always used. Don’t get stuck in a rut with your advertising. Try something different and tweak your ads until you are getting the results you are looking for.

Let me know your results!

Thanks!

Easy Link Building Strategies For Increasing SE Ranking

Honest Housewife here!

To have a good ranking in the search engines you need to build lots of backlinks to your website. Let’s take a look at some of the ways that you can build links.

1. If you have links already existing on other websites you may want to contact them and ask if they could change the link slightly. A link with an anchor text containing relevant keywords is much better than a link that just says ‘click here’.

2. Always monitor your sites 404 statistics and keep track of any links that are old or even misspelled and going to the wrong URL. A backlink is no good if it isn’t pointing to the write link.

3. On your website have a “link to us” link. Include the information you would like used for your link such as anchor text and URL. You can even offer to do a link exchange and have a contact box so website owners can leave their details.

4. Check for any errors using a spell and grammar checker. Users will notice any errors that you have in your links, content and pages.

5. Always keep an eye out for other sites that mention your website or even use some of your website content. If they include a link back to your site that is fine but if they don’t then contact them and ask them to include a link to your site.

6. Post comments on other blogs that relate to your niche and put your link either in the box provided or within your comment. Always post good comments that are relevant to the blog post.

7. Always use tags, particularly header tags, on your website that include your relevant keywords. Anchor text and image text also increases search engine rankings.

8. Use a sitemap on your website that links all the pages to the sitemap page. If your site is created using WordPress there are plugins that can create a sitemap for you. This makes it easier for the search engines to spider your website.

9. Link your site to other websites that have content that is relevant to your site. Always link to the important pages within the site.

10. Link to websites that have high search engine rankings as these can help drive traffic back to your site.

11. Study your competitors and see what sites they are using to get backlinks and add your website links to the same sites.

12. If you have good feedback from your clients then add those comments to your site. This will add trust and interest of future clients.

13. Create an ebook about your niche and offer it as a free gift for people to sign up to your newsletter or mailing list.

14. If you consider yourself an expert in your field then teach on online seminar about your topic. Post announcements of the seminar on your website and other sites around the internet.

15. Use Google Adwords to help build up your customer base.

16. Find an affiliate product that relates to your niche and add links to it to your website.

17. Choose a charity and add a ‘donate to charity’ link to your site. Have a description of the charity and how you will donate the proceeds that you receive.

18. Submit your website URL to social media sites that have quality products and services offered on their sites.

Use of the above strategies will increase your traffic and also increase your profits. A successful, profitable website takes work but if you are willing to put in that effort then your website will soon be one of the best.

Have a great day!

Advertising Business – Internet Marketing

Honest Housewife here!

Whether your business is a strictly online business or an offline business, you need to be using advertising business internet marketing strategies. If you aren’t using the power and enormous potential of the internet to gain attention for your business, why not? After all, your competitors sure are.

Of course, if your business is an online storefront or affiliate marketing business you no doubt already understand how important marketing is to your success. If you aren’t getting the website visitors you need, you can’t make any money and if you don’t make any money, you don’t have a business.

The internet changes quickly. A few years ago no one even knew what Twitter was. Today many savvy business owners, both online and off, have come to rely on the tweet as a way to build rapport with their customers as well as add new customers.

Finding the best methods for advertising business internet marketing is another issue all together. There are many ways you can market your business using the internet, and as I said above, new ones come around all the time. To really get the most out of your advertising you will want to create a campaign that encompasses several methods.

To do this, you can either do it yourself or hire a company that specializes in online marketing. Don’t worry if your business is small and you’re just starting out. You can do it yourself if you need to, once you get some money coming in you can then continue to do it yourself and keep more of the money you make, or hire a company to do it for you, the choice is yours.

But with so many choices for online marketing such as Search Engine Optimization (SEO), article marketing, banner ads, Pay Per Click (PPC), classified ads, to name just a few, having someone else coordinate it all can free you up to do those things that only you can do, like take your kids to the park!

The really neat thing about many of these online marketing techniques is that many of them are completely free to do. They only require some of your time and for many people who are just getting started, that’s all they can afford.

For those of you who don’t have much money and have to rely solely on sweat equity, your best bet is to focus on one of the methods to start, preferably a free method like SEO or article marketing. Take the time to perfect that method than move on to another.

That is the best way to start generating traffic so you can start making a little money. As your business grows and you are making more money you can hire others to help you out and /or you can move on to other ways of getting traffic that cost money such as PPC and banner ads.

The sooner you implement a sound strategy to
advertising business internet marketing the sooner you can start making more sales and growing your business. Time’s a wasting!

Enjoy your day!
